Practice and Training
Global leaders are required to have the wide range of experiences and the view, and the students should develop their abilities to make right decisions based on precise judgment for unexpected situations and circumstances.
The academy offers the practical educational program including International Seminars, Overseas Trainings, Domestic and International Internships, DOJO Seminars, Simulation Exercises, Radiation Measurement Fieldwork and Volunteer Activities, and aims to promote each student’s growth with his/her expertise and sociability.
Radiation Measurement Fieldwork in Fukushima
Conducting the fieldwork, the students gain hands-on experiences measuring environmental radiation damage caused by nuclear accidents with multiple types of radiation detectors. Environmental samples are collected and analyzed for isotope identification and spatial distribution of its dispersal. Students have their levels of exposure measured with a whole-body counter. |

Simulation Exercise
Nuclear Reactor Severe Accident simulation exercise The lectures provide the overview of the severe accident phenomena that threaten the integrity of the reactor containment vessel. An overview of the severe accident analysis results and the evaluation results of Fukushima accidents progression will be also learned. In the tasks in nuclear reactor severe accident simulation, the simulation training of BWR transients, design basis accidents and severe accidents will be done. Report July 22-26, 2013 |

Environmental Dynamics of Radioactive Nuclides Numerical simulation of the environmental dispersion of radioactive materials released from a virtual nuclear accident and evaluation of the public exposure is performed, by using the WSPEEDI-II system, to have students predict the environmental dispersion and radiological consequence by nuclear accidents. |

Nuclear Security Training A threat of nuclear terrorism is one of the concerns utilizing nuclear materials and radioactive materials. The establishment of effective measures to prevent and neutralize the threat is required. Students gain the practical experiences by uranium enrichment verification experiment, numerical simulation of hydro-dynamics of structure material and nuclear material criticality. |
Volunteer Activities
In response to the needs of society, contributions to society are made through volunteer services. Companionship among the sufferers gives students to pursue deeper personal identities as both members of society and graduate students of nuclear engineering. |

International Symposium and Seminar
Organizing the international symposium and seminar by the students, they can improve not only their presentation skills but also their perspectives to pursue the issues and to explore the diverse solutions according to their themes. Report February 25, 2014 to March 7, 2014 |

Overseas Training
The students have opportunities that they to visit many places such as international organizations, laboratories, universities and industries. DOJO Lectures
At the DOJO lecture, prominent professionals from various fields give the students valuable lectures which help the individuals to deepen their thoughts and to learn how they behave as global leaders. |

DOJO seminars
The students have a self-managed seminar once a week at the DOJO dormitory where they can obtain a wide variety of ideas and improve their abilities to debate global issues. |

Science Cafe
As cultural and community events, the academy holds Science Cafés regularly which are open to the public. Organizing the events, the students have opportunities to discuss science with the people from different backgrounds. |
